Half way through midterms.
Finally finished all my projects/presentations.

Now what? Will I survive this? Can I actually keep going?
I know I get the easy way out already. Sure, work might be slightly harder, but everything is spaced out as much as possible. All the support I can get. It's just that... it's such a strain.

Anyways, let's start all over again. Break, then study again. I'll take deadlines one at a time. =) I managed to keep that up for the last 2 months; I can continue this. Besides, God is here. He'll help me keep moving; He'll give me strength.

Oh, the point of this, besides wasting time, is.... well, I got out the New Shoots book the other day, and my summer random pieces of writing. Well... they're so depressing. The poems, the stories, they're all so... pessimistic, but beautiful - ack, some of them are beautifully written anyways. When will I have time to continue this again? Hm...

無得出街 vs 無街出

without letting my interpretation ruins yours, what's your thought?

無得出街:  permission; you don't have permission to go out

無街出: you have no where to go

Lmao, random.

untitled play (unrevised)

                                   ACT I

                                   SCENE 1

                    Backdrop: sun setting

                    Two empty swings on stage

                    Voices speak off stage:

          JOY
Emily, how long have we been friends?

          EMILY
               Hmmm, what's this?

          JOY
I'm just thinking... so how long have we known each
               other?

          EMILY
Decades. I met you in first grade.

          JOY
               Emily?

          EMILY
               Yes?

          JOY
Remember the first day of school, how we met?

          EMILY
               Huh?

          JOY
He was bullying me... He was calling me names, and I
was crying. I've never met anyone like him.
                         (A short pause.)
I was crying like there's no tomorrow, and you came
               along.
                         (Another pause.)
I swear you had a halo on top of you. You came, and
you, well you just told him to back off, and.....
(Voice trails off, prepare for Act II)

                                   ACT II

                                   SCENE 1

                    Grade 1.

Darkened stage: JOY on swing, and TOM beside her.

          TOM
               You have cooties, you ugly!
                         (chants)
               Cooties, Ugly, Cooties, Ugly...

          JOY

                    JOY stands up from swing
               Stop it.

JOY sniffs and cries as TOM continues to bully.
               Go away.

          TOM
Loser! Crybaby! Can't even take a joke, can you?

                    Emily enters.

          EMILY

EMILY shoves TOM away from JOY.
Who's the loser? Don't pick on a girl, you loser!

          TOM
Who are YOU? Are you standing up for this crybaby?

          EMILY
I'm not standing up for anyone. I'm telling you to back
               off, Tom.

JOY sniffs, looks up at TOM and EMILY arguing.

          TOM
You wanna fight huh? You wanna?

EMILY pulls up her sleeves, and prepares to accept
the challenge when JOY stands up and pulls her
                    back.

          JOY
Stop. Don't fight with him. Please... please...

EMILY stares sideway at JOY, pulls her arm away,
                    and turns around.
               Wait...

                    EMILY stops.

          TOM
               Crybaby need her Mommy?

EMILY turns to face TOM and stares!

At the sight of EMILY's rage, TOM runs off stage.

                    EMILY walks slowly after TOM.

          JOY
Wait... Umm, thanks. I'm Joy. You are..
                         (A pause.)

          EMILY

                    Without turning:
               Emily.

EMILY strolls off stage, while stage lights dims.

                                   SCENE 2

                    Grade 10.

Lights on. Evidently some time later due to mode
of dress. TOM pushes EMILY on the swing. JOY
stands in a corner, observing the two.

          EMILY
So why do you like me?

          TOM
Erg, I knew girls will ask this.

          EMILY
Are you regretting it? You can always leave.

          TOM
No. I love you. Your hair, your eyes, your smile, your
               voice. Everything about you, Emily.

          EMILY
               I love you too...

EMILY turns to face TOM and sees JOY in the
                    corner. EMILY stands up.
Joy! What are you doing here?

JOY slowly comes forward, head down.

                    EMILY looks to TOM.

          TOM
Um, hi, Joy. Taking a walk in the park?

          JOY
Erh, actually, I was just heading home.

          EMILY
Oh, I'll come with you. I probably should head home
too. Bye Tom, see ya tomorrow.

EMILY kisses TOM on the cheek, and pulling JOY's
                    hand, runs off stage.

          TOM
This girl, Joy, she's an interesting chick, quite cute
               really.

                                   SCENE 3

Light dims and relights. University students.

JOY and TOM each on the swing; JOY is reading a
textbook, while TOM has a magazine.

          TOM

TOM looks up from his magazine.
               Joy...

          JOY

                    Without looking up, mumbles absentmindedly.
               What is it?

          TOM
               Let's go watch a movie.

          JOY

Finally looks up with a patient smile.
Tom, I told you. I need to study for this exam, and,
don't forget, I still need to write your thesis by end
               of a this week.

          TOM

Looks to the side (no eye contact with JOY)
Just write it tonight. Come on, I'm bored.

JOY stands, walks behind TOM, and hugs him.

          JOY
               Tomorrow, alright? Tomorrow we'll go.

                         (IMTERMISSION)

                                   ACT III

                                   SCENE 1

Voices behind stage: JOY and EMILY

          JOY
               Emily...

          EMILY
Joy, what's wrong? You're not acting like yourself
today. And gosh, those old times are the past, history!
               Who cares!

          JOY
               ...

Darkens, EMILY and JOY enter in the dark, sitting
                    on the swing. Lights on.

JOY picks up something and whack it at EMILY's
                    head. EMILY faints.
Who cares about the past? You're right. I don't care,
but it's the present relationship between you two that
               bothers me.

                    Light dims.

                    Sound of phone ringing.

JOY's voice heard in the dark.

          JOY
Tom, remember that park where we first met? Do you mind
coming here for a sec? It's urgent.

                                   SCENE 2

JOY is not on stage. EMILY tied naked to a pole of
                    the swing. TOM enters.

          TOM

Sees EMILY tied, runs towards her, exclaiming:
               Emily! What happened?

Attempts to untie her, and didn't see JOY
                    appearing behind him.

JOY strikes TOM in the head. TOM faints. JOY tears
TOM's clothes, drags him to near EMILY. With
tears, hysterical laughters, JOY starts sewing the
                    disgraceful couple's backs together.

                    Light dims.

                                   SCENE 3

Lights on: the tied EMILY/TOM sits on a railway
track, EMILY's leg tied with a metal chain to one
side, TOM's leg tied with a chain to the other
                    side. They wake.

TOM wakes and tries to get up.

          EMILY
               OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

          TOM
               What? Ugg, my back...

          EMILY

                    Between sobs
               What happened? Who's there.

          TOM
               Emily? Emily, is that you?

          EMILY
Yes. Tom? Why are we here... naked?

          TOM
Fuck, it's Joy. She called me. She fucking called me
out, and I saw you there!

          EMILY
Why? You don't supposed she found out...

          TOM
No way! That bitch's only good at working. She's a
               dumbass!

          EMILY
Then how do you explain our situation!?

Distant CHOOOOOO CHOOOOOOO sound. =] approaching
                    train!
               What's that!

          TOM

                    A pause.
It sounds like a.... fuck, train!

Both turn to see back of stage...

TOM tries to get up, and EMILY screams. TOM falls
back down since they're tied together.
Come on! Bitch, get up! Damn it. EMILY!!

          EMILY

                    Mumbles to herself.
What should we do? Someone, save me.

          TOM
Damn, get up, or I'll lose my life because of you.

TOM tries to pull EMILY up behind him. They stand.

TOM pulls EMILY towards his side of the track.
Because of EMILY's leg chain, he fails.
What the~ Fuck, Emily, COME! Stop standing there.

          EMILY
Well, maybe you should take a look! My leg... OWW, STOP
               PULLING!

          TOM
Fuck, you're not the only one whose leg is tied, ok?
Now come before the train comes.

          EMILY
               Why don't you come!?

          TOM
I told you! My leg is tied down.

Train's CHOOOOOO gets increasingly closer and
louder. The two panicks, and run in their own
direction. The thread that tied them together
                    breaks.

          TOM & EMILY
               YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Their back is bloody red as they kneel on their
                    side of the track.

          TOM
Fuck Bitch. What the fuck were you doing!?

          EMILY
Damn it Tom. Ask yourself that! My damn back! There's
probably going to be a scar!

                    EMILY looks totally dejected.

                    JOY's voice heard.

          JOY
Lady and gentleman. How did you enjoy the show huh?
It's time for the closing ritual.

                    JOY appears with a bottle.
Let me treat your poor wound, husband.

Pours content (rubbing alcohol) over TOM and
                    EMILY.

EMILY and TOM scream in horror, pain and fright.

                    JOY laughs!

          TOM
Joy, stop this. You're crazy! Stop this nonsense!

          EMILY
Joy, please. Owww. It hurts. Please.

EMILY crawls over and hugs TOM.

JOY's rage increases. She takes out a lighter, and
lights a torch. JOY stands above the huddled
                    figure with a flaming torch!
               No... This is ridiculous. Joy...

          TOM

Pushes EMILY off, and stands up, prepare to fight
                    for the torch.
Joy... Now, give me that. It's dangerous...

          JOY
               Ok, here you go...

With a smile, she throws the torch to TOM, who
just screams in the fire! EMILY quickly caught on
fire too because of the rubbing alcohol over the
                    two of them.

          EMILY
                         (dying words)
What did we do to you Joy? What did we do to deserve
               this?

          TOM
Bitch! You'll be sorry! Watch your step!

                    Light dims.

                                   SCENE 4

JOY and TOM's home. A door.

JOY walks to the door, takes out a key, and opens
                    the door.

Before she can walk in, an axe swing out of the
doorway, and is planted directly down the middle
                    of her forehead.

JOY falls backward, her face up, eyes open, an axe
                    on her forehead. Blood everywhere.

                                   THE END

I knew I should have written it down somewhere. I forgot. All of it.
Well, I remember that I had a nice, formal ending for valedictorian speech, and I was too lazy to get out of bed to write it. Well, too late. It left me - it left me drained and empty - empty of inspiration.
